Luthuli Rise is the second single of 2026 by Ugandan artist kalibwani, leading up to his debut EP, LUSUKU TAPES. Named after a street in his childhood neighborhood of Bugolobi in Kampala, Luthuli Rise is a nostalgic tune that contends with the city’s jagged realities and the balancing act of trying to build a legacy atop a society that is rife with bad faith actors and institutionalized dysfunction. On production, Nairobi producer and close collaborator Agent Mgumbe laced a moody piano driven beat with a subtle dancehall bounce.
